~ It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! ~ Isaiah 55 11:12
Am I a hypocrite?
Once you become a Christian does that mean that you don't sin anymore, and if you do you, are you a hypocrite? Hello! I am human! I never really understood sin and I still struggle with it. I used to think sin was just when you broke one of the 10 commandments. But now I know that sin is truly anything in your life which separates you from a relationship with God. You can never be separated from God's love but you can choose to turn your back on a personal relationship with Him or not know you can have one. How do I know this? Because, I was missing that in my life! I always believed in God but I didn't know you could have a daily relationship with Him ~ with Jesus Christ!
How powerful is His name! JESUS CHRIST. Some people will not even read this blog because His name is highlighted. How quickly the devil whispers lies in your head. The devil doesn't want you to know the truth. He doesn't want you to be saved or have eternal life, joy, and peace. Why are people so afraid to accept this unconditional love? Is it because when we come before God we have to be accountable for our actions? Are we afraid that we will have to change our life in a blink of an eye? Quit all of our old habits and ways instantly? Become a b-o-r-i-n-g Christian?! These are definite lies! Maybe for some that change was instant. For many, though, changes come about by the strength and grace of God over time. When you come to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness of your sins and to be your personal saviour that is the first step for a new beginning ~ a clean slate. I came to Jesus because I needed Him, not because I am strong enough to follow all of the rules ~ far from it. Sometimes I feel people are watching and waiting for me to make a mistake, judging me on what they think a Christian should be. Don't get me wrong you need to be accountable for your actions, and God only wants what's best for his children. That's why he has given us rules to live by. He knows what sins cause pain and separation from Him. We all know that there has been damage done by people pushing their regulations and laws on others. It's the relationship between you and Jesus that shines the light on the truth ~ of what is sin in your life ~ not what others think you should be doing.
"Oh that's nice dear you found Jesus, I'm glad for you...."
It is a spirital warfare out there~ just listen to the voices in your head! I came to Jesus because I was missing that connection, that relationship that He designed us to have with him. Nothing fills it other than Him ~ only Jesus. So you may ask: "Trish if you are a Christian, why did you do this or say that?" Each day that I read and talk with God He shows me areas in my life that are separating me from Him. Each day I am learning to follow Him ~ to be more like Him. Each day a piece of my old self dies ~ but the reward is life abundantly! Letting go of my old ways is an on going battle. The devil is always waiting for a weakness: being tired, overworked, or having feelings of entitlement. The devil is always telling lies! That is why the Bible is called the living word ~ you need to know it so that you know the truth from the lies and how God truly sees you. You can be saved, but only really living if you are drawing strength from the well of living water everyday! We do this by taking time to just be in the presence of Jesus and learning God's word. That being said ~ I am a sinner, I do need Jesus to show me the way and to give me strength when I am weak, no question!
~Thank you Jesus for loving me, shining your light on me,giving me life and strength to be in this world but not of this world. Amen!
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today, nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8~38:39
